
To give credit where credit is due, I initially fixed the initialization issue thanks to the thread created by DarkSith1 on this forum, but in my searching I found command line settings you could include that will allow you to not only launch the game without selecting the launcher in the installation folder, but also run it in windowed mode, which is extremely usefull if you want to tab out or stream it, as when it's full screen it proves difficult to get it out of focus. Optional Window Mode > This might not work for everyone. Can launch the game normal through steam and playtime will be logged.
